Anatomy of a Day
Things I liked about today
- I woke up earlier than normal and used the extra time to have an extra cup of coffee, read some extra blogs and interact on Mastodon.
- My job has special summer hours and I get tomorrow off as a result.
- Three of my grandkids are spending the night with us on Friday and we're going out for pancakes on Saturday morning, a long standing tradition.
- There was a killer episode of my current favorite show, Blue Lights, a Northern Irish police procedural, out tonight.
- Wonder Woman let me skate by with making a quick and easy supper (soup) so I could start relaxing earlier.
- Having time to look through a trove of old photos from the 90s this afternoon.
Things I didn't like about today.
- Listening to the decision makers at the little liberal arts university where I work talk about IT security this afternoon like we are working at Los Alamos building the A-bomb in 1944.
- People on Reddit doling out bad advice, rudely, to folks with legitimate questions about how to use their Macs.
- Not getting to eat lunch with Wonder Woman because her high-powered and important job required her to attend a fancy noon meeting in a swanky restaurant while I had a sad desk lunch from Arby's.
- Finding a cool app to write a review on, only to have it marred by the dev's decision to make it an over-priced subscription, which is the only thing people will react to when they read the review.
- Having to deal with the reality of a convicted felon being treated as the equal to the duly elected president of the United States in the news all day.
